This Saturday, at the Barnsley BYBA competition, the Kidsgrove Scouts 2009 production 'The Heart' had its second public performance. Kidsgrove took to the field of competition and produced a high quality performance despite the strong winds, taking first place and winning the Music Effect, Visual Effect, Ensemble Music, Ensemble Visual, Field Percussion and Colour Guard captions along the way.
On Sunday the corps performed at the first DCUK show of the season in Warrington. The corps produced a very strong performance and took the Visual Effect and Ensemble Music captions and placed 2nd overall for today’s competition.
Also competing on both days were the Kidsgrove Juniors who continued the winning way scooping first place in Cadet Class on Saturday and first place on Sunday as well. Rob Swindells, said afterwards "With the weather against us on both days I am really happy with the quality of the performances. The shows just keep getting better and better and with more to come we are in a really strong position – an outstanding weekend." (Text: Kidsgrove Scouts press release)
