Bluehawks top Irish DCE certified show
14 Jul 2009

The Clonmel Bluehawks have topped the first DCE certified show in Ireland last Saturday. The event was a joint venture of the Irish Marching Band Association (IMBA) and Drum Corps United Kingdom.

The Bluehawks scored 51.35. The Tallaght Festival Band came in second with 45.75, followed by the Inbhear Mór Marchers (45.10), Tallaght Youth Band (44.50), Clondalkin Youth Band (44.45) and Atherstone Youth Band (34.90). The Cadet Class was won by the Boyle Marching Band.

All corps members had to perform in heavy rain, and the field was slippery because of the rain. The Senators had to perform in concert (in exhibition), as the risk of injuries during the drill was too high.

Despite the weather, the IMBA/DCUK show was a well run and very enjoyable show, with a responsive audience and good performances by all corps.
