Northern Star takes centre stage
11 Apr 2008

The Northern Star Group is pleased to announce that in recent weeks, a new portfolio of ensembles has been created, each with a separate focus, some dedicated new members, and their own respective Director.

Executive Director with responsibility for overseeing the performance portfolio, Mark Pickles said, "I've had the vision for a number of years that Northern Star would develop into something more than a competitive drum & bugle corps, and 2008 sees the start of our expansion into these new areas. I'm really excited about the opportunities and proud of our talented performers and staff." The Management Executive is therefore pleased to announce the following appointments:

Northern Star Drum & Bugle Corps - Mark Pickles - Corps Director
Big Band - Andy Cartwright - Musical Director
“Off the Beat” Stage Show - Phil Hargreaves - Director
Northern Star Junior Corps - Mark Pickles - Corps Director*

(*temporary cover until a permanent appointment is made)

Caption heads and instructors will be announced in due course in the meantime a full programme of rehearsals for each ensemble has been planned, together with performances for the drum & bugle corps across England and Europe.
