DCE Championships not in Rotterdam

The DCE Championships will not be held in Rotterdam this year. After three succesful championship events, DCE and Sparta were not able to come to an agreement for an additional year. DCE hopes to announce a new venue shortly. Talks with other stadiums are in a final stage.
 
"We would have loved to see the DCE Championships being held in the Sparta stadium", says board member Dennis Naaktgeboren, who coordinated the contacts between DCE and Sparta. "The stadium is fantastic, we had a great relationship with Sparta, and we were able to hold an additional event in the city heart: Drum Corps Rocks the Town." At the end of last year Sparta informed DCE that they were very positive about the DCE Championships and wanted to see the event back in 2008.

However Sparta changed their technical staff and appointed a new football coach. Although nothing went wrong in the last three years, the new technical staff fears damage to the pitch", Naaktgeboren adds. "That's why Sparta had to tell us that their stadium isn't available anymore." Negociations with other venues are in a final stage. DCE expects to announce the new stadium within a few weeks. With the DCE Power Regional taking place in the UK, the DCE Championships 2008 will be held in The Netherlands.
