2007 edition was biggest DCE Championships ever
8 Oct 2007

The DCE Championships 2007, that took place in Rotterdam last week, was the biggest ever edition in terms of visitor numbers. There were 2400 visitors to the event.

The regional and local press paid a lot of attention to the European drum corps championships both before the event as well as on the day itself. "Although we cannot say for sure, we believe this press coverage led to increased interest from the locals", says PR Manager Dennis Naaktgeboren of Drum Corps Europe. "Unfortunately the weather was rather disappointing, but we were still able to welcome more spectators to this edition. Drum corps is still on the up. The event is clearly becoming more interesting for a larger audience. The participants themselves were again a great advert for next year."

This year, the DCE Championships was organized for the seventh time. The first edition took place in Ghent in 2001.
