Again special award for High Front Ensemble
27 Sep 2007

This year, a special 'High Front Ensemble' prize will again be awarded to the corps with the best pit at this year’s DCE Championships. This special award was established last year by the parents of Barry Boer Rookuiszen, a gifted pit musician, arranger and instructor who died from diabetes in February 2006.

The reason for establishing this prize can be read here. It was the desire of Cor and Ina Boer Rookhuiszen, Barry’s parents, for the award to be continued. Drum Corps Europe has promised its full cooperation in this regard. The award not only has great symbolic value, but also produced a profusion of positive reactions from the drum corps world last year.

The first 'Barry Boer Rookhuiszen Award' for High Front Ensemble was won by Senators. Bruce Vrancken and Marco Harder will be responsible for the judging of this special award this coming DCE Championships.
