Special award for High Front Ensemble
21 Sep 2006

A special award for High Front Ensemble will be presented in Rotterdam this Saturday during the Open Class Finals. The award will be presented by the parents of Barry Boer Rookhuiszen.

In February this year, Barry Boer Rookhuiszen passed away at a far too early age as a result of his diabetes. Drum corps was his passion and he was involved in it both at his club Jubal as elsewhere. He was a familiar face in the world of European drum corps. One of Barry's ultimate wishes was for the front ensemble to be judged separately from the percussion.

For the first time in drum corps history a prize will be awarded this evening for High Front Ensemble. Bruce Vrancken will pay particular attention to the performances of the various front ensembles, independently from the DCE judging panel and the DCE Competition Manual.
