Fund for Amateur Art will be supporting DCE
4 Aug 2006

The Fund for Amateur Art and Performing Arts in The Hague has decided to sponsor the Drum Corps Europe Championships. This fund subsidizes many cultural projects it considers worth sponsoring.

The Fund has promised support to Drum Corps Europe as they have every faith in the quality of the organisation. DCE's Financial Manager, Hans Wansink, is pleased with the support. "The DCE Championships cost a huge amount of money. Not only do the stadium and judges have to be paid for, but costs are also incurred for stadium staff, stewards, BUMA, hire of the sports hall, insurance, promotional activities and so on."

Compared with the very first DCE Championships five years ago, the next edition will cost 15 times as much. The income from admission fees has also increased during this time, but this isn't enough to cover all the costs.
