Logo for the DCE Championships 2006 revealed
24 Jul 2006

Just like last year, Drum Corps Europe has had a logo designed for the DCE Championships 2006 in Rotterdam. This time though, the logo is not adorned with the towers of the Sparta stadium 'The Castle', but a typical Rotterdam symbol has been chosen instead.

The logo now contains the characteristic Erasmus Bridge, also known as 'The Swan'. It has once again been designed by the visual artist Peter Franken, who has incorporated the bridge in the logo in a unique way. "I didn't want to show the bridge from the usual perspective, but from a different one", explains Franken. "The bridge is now seen as though you are standing on it, looking up at the 'swan's neck' from an angle."

Drum Corps Europe is extremely pleased with the design. The logo will not only be used for the traditional patch, but also for other things such as the program guide, DVD covers and promotion material for the event.
